  • Job Summary: Under general direction, is responsible for coordination of Historic and Design Review Commission (HDRC) cases, recommendations and meetings. Responsible for administration of public education initiatives, performing research, and special projects.
  • Job Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
    • One (1) year of experience in urban planning, historic preservation, customer service, or related field.
    • Valid Class “C” Driver’s License.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in Historic Preservation, Architecture, or a related field.
    • Experience in architectural design or design review.
    • Experience in the treatment of historic properties.

Essential Job Functions

  • Researches, collects, analyzes, and interprets data and summarizes data, and develops recommendations.
  • Responds to department requests for information, as well as from the general public.
  • Coordinates administration of HDRC cases, case recommendations,
    meeting agendas, packets, HDRC sub-committee, and on-site meetings, as needed.
  • Creates, plans, and coordinates special events and educational outreach programs, including negotiating with vendors and venues and advertising and promoting these.
  • Manages projects to completion with supervision.
  • Communicates through various methods within the department and to the public.
  • Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
