Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional client service to our clients by identifying historic tax credit opportunities
Assist clients with state and local tax applications, which includes preparing clients for discussions with regulators
Research and draft Part 1 applications and National Register nominations
Provide expertise on African-American history or Civil Rights Era history
Assist managers and consultants by preparing federal Historic Preservation Certification Application Parts 1, 2, and 3;
Respond to client inquiries and requests from State Historic Preservation Office and National Park Service regulators
Review documentation and research issues
Work with raw data to identify tax credit opportunities
Education and Experience:
Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in American History, African-American Studies, Architectural History, or Historic Preservation with a concentration in African American History, Civil Rights Era, or a similar field.
Anticipated graduation date within one year of internship
Minimum Overall and Major GPA of 3.0
Minimum of 6 – 12 Accounting hours, depending on the practice

Proficiency in historical and online research.
Ability to describe historical concepts, relate events, people and objects in historical context and present historic arguments through strong writing
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels.
Ability to travel for site visits.
Intermediate knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, etc.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver’s license is required.
