Overview:
E2 Project Management, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Full-Time, Permanent, Senior Architectural Historian to work out of our Rockaway, NJ, or Manasquan, NJ office. Applicants should have a minimum of 7 years’ experience and understand the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), FCC Programmatic Agreements, applicable Section 106 regulations, and the regulations of various Historic Preservation Offices. Previous experience with some or all the following is required:
· a warm, outgoing personality,
· experience managing projects,
· architectural resource surveys,
· Section 106 compliance,
· National Register of Historic Places nominations,
· HABS/HAER documentation,
· developing and implementing design guidelines,
· historic structure reports,
· preservation planning, and/or
· researching and designing interpretive materials,
· experience with historic architecture preferred.
Responsibilities:
· Completing historic architectural resource surveys from start to finish, including background research, context development, field documentation, report writing, and survey form preparation.
· Developing and executing scopes of work and budgets for historic architectural surveys.
· Evaluating historic architectural resources in relation to the National Register of Historic Places (NHRP) criteria and within the framework of the historic and architectural contexts developed for the project.
· Assessing the effects of proposed undertakings on identified historic properties in accordance with the regulations found at 36CFR Part 800.
· Developing recommendations for eliminating, minimizing, or mitigating adverse effects (when appropriate) and assisting clients with Section 106 consultation to resolve adverse effects.
· Leading or contributed to developing other historic preservation documents, including National Register nominations, state-level and HABS/HAER/HALS documentation, historic context studies, historic preservation plans, and other projects as assigned.
