One Cultural Resources Technician (Seasonal Worker, Full-time, 40 hours/week) position is available with the Colorado State University (CSU) Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). This position will provide entry-level training and experience on a range of cultural resources projects supporting the Cultural Resources Management (CRM) program at Mountain Home Air Force Base (AFB), Idaho. Potential work activities may include but are not limited to the tasks below:

• Updating the cultural resources database using ArcGIS software
• Monitoring archaeological sites for damage or other impacts
• Organizing and maintaining historic records and photographs collections using archival standards
• Supporting the CRM with tasks related to the Cold War Alert Facility, a National Historic Landmark
(NHL), including determining site maintenance/cleanup and adaptive reuse with the potential for public outreach opportunities

Candidates must:
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in anthropology, archaeology, history, historic preservation, cultural resource
management, or a related field
• Have demonstrated experience with ArcGIS, including ArcPro
• Have completed coursework related to CRM laws or have a demonstrated understanding of National
Historic Preservation Act’s (NHPA) Section 106 and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
fundamentals
• Have excellent writing skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• Completed archaeology field school
• Knowledge of Idaho cultural resources and aware of local politics, including tribal relations and
environmental activism
• Familiarity with programming and database development
• Familiarity with archival standards
