  • Job Qualifications:

    EDUCATION:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in architecture
    • Degree in Historic Preservation or closely related field or equivalent experience or interest is a plus
    EXPERIENCE:
    • 5+ years of experience in an architectural practice
    • Experience directing small production team
    • Experience working within Secretary of the Interiors Standards is a plus
    • Experience with National Park Service is a plus
    CERTIFICATION:
    • Professional registration as a licensed Architect is preferred
    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
    • Understanding of Revit and AutoCAD in creating and developing construction documents
    • Effective communication and organizational skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
    • Experience with Sketch-up or other comparable modeling software
    • Specification writing, experience with BSD Spec link is a plus
    • Experience with cost estimating at the programmatic phase and throughout construction document phase
    • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Accurate attention to detail

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Model firm values of responsiveness, creativity, and professionalism
• Assist with developing design and technical aspects of historical projects from concept through construction, including regulatory reviews.
• Perform historical research, hands-on condition assessment, and material analysis
• Technical writing may include preparation of National Register nominations, Determinations of Eligibility, condition assessment reports, Historic Structure Reports, Building Preservation Plans, and historical specifications.
• Engage in architectural projects by providing construction document production and research to prepare specifications.
• Provide research and support for the preparation of cost opinions
• Attend Owner / Architect / Contractor meetings throughout the project, including during construction
• Consult with the Supervisor regarding unusual complexities and developments
