🔗National Register of Historic Places Social Media Coordinator Intern – 400 hours

Website National Park Service/NCPE Internship Program
National Register of Historic Places Social Media Coordinator: The National Register of Historic Places, a program of the National Park Service, in Washington, DC, provides nationwide guidance on the historic recognition of properties that are significant to a community, a state, or the nation. The National Register intern will assist with building upon and improving the National Register program’s social media presence; primarily planning/scheduling and developing relevant Facebook, Instagram, and Flickr posts, focusing on commemorative historical events and featured listings. The position will also include creating and writing pages for the National Park Service website about National Register properties. One particular focus for 2023 will be highlighting the various Historic Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) National Register listings and other projects as needed.
The intern will work under the supervision of one of the National Register Archivists and a Senior Historian. In the course of their work, the intern may also interact with the National Register staff and other NPS programs and regional offices and/or State Historic Preservation Offices. This is a good opportunity for students with an interest in promoting historic preservation across multiple digital platforms and in expanding their knowledge of federal historic preservation programs.
An agency laptop and relevant security credentials will be provided for the duration of the internship.
