  • Job Summary: Latinos in Heritage Conservation (LHC) seeks a Development Manager to join a dynamic team and is willing to play a critical role in groundbreaking work to support Latinx heritage throughout the U.S.
  • Job Qualifications:

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and/or 2-3 years of development and grants management experience. Preference will be given to applicants with some experience and/or understanding of advocacy-based organizations.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to think both creatively and strategically. Excellent written and verbal communications, problem-solving and creative thinking skills
    • Ability to work independently, remotely, responsibly, and as part of a team, collaborate with colleagues, prioritize competing tasks, and follow through on assignments
    • Social Media/digital marketing is a plus.
    • Proficient in DonorPerfect, GrantStation, and familiarity with Grants.gov and Mailchimp
    • Maintain donor trust, integrity, and confidentiality at all times
    • Experience that lends itself to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment, with flexibility and willingness to jump in at all levels of a project to help get work done
      Commitment to promoting and supporting an environment of racial equity, diversity, and inclusion
    • Comfortable coordinating multiple deadlines and managing shifting priorities
    • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the U.S. and work evenings and weekends as needed.
    • Must be enthusiastic about our mission and committed to equity and inclusion in every aspect of your work. Must be able to discuss racial equity, have experience working with BIPOC organizations, and most importantly, have cultural competency for Latinx communities.
    • Ability to speak, read, and/or write in Spanish is a plus.
    • Exceptionally proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and internet research skills, with the ability to learn new applications quickly. Prior CRM or donor database experience.
    • Excels in working independently. Remote work experience is a plus.

Job Summary: Latinos in Heritage Conservation (LHC) seeks a Development Manager to join a dynamic team and is willing to play a critical role in groundbreaking work to support Latinx heritage throughout the U.S. Along with the Executive Director, the Development Manager will work as a primary contact with members, sponsors, and donors. The Development Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to raise funds for the organization. This includes identifying potential donors and partners, cultivating relationships with them, and soliciting donations. Additionally, the role involves developing and executing initiatives to increase the organization’s visibility and engagement with its stakeholders. The Development Manager works closely with the Executive Director, staff, and other stakeholders to achieve the organization’s fundraising goals.

Job Term: This is a temporary position supported by grant funding from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation’s Humanities in Place Program, with a 12-month appointment, 40 hours a week. The selected candidate will help solidify the resources needed to transform the role into a permanent, ongoing position in our organization.
