    BA in History or related field, prefer MA in Historic Preservation
    At least one year of historic preservation related experience
    Experience and knowledge of Section 106 reviews preferred
    Knowledge of historic preservation procedures and standards for landmark designation
    Knowledge of architectural styles, building components, basic building structure and building maintenance requirements
    Basic understanding of architectural and historic surveys
    Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
    Strong organizational skills, computer skills, time management and project management skills

City of Aurora

The Preservation Assistant performs various professional, administrative, and public contact duties to support the City’s Historic Preservation Specialist and Historic Preservation Commission. The Preservation Assistant will assist in managing the City-owned historic properties, researching various topics, and coordinating volunteers, tours, public programming development, and implementation.

This position is part-time, with up to 24 hours per week, three days a week, with the possibility of up to one Saturday or Sunday per month.
