We are seeking an Environmental Scientist and air permitting specialist to join our Indiana team. This position will report to the Indiana Regional Manager and work from our Indianapolis office. The right person will enjoy:

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor of science in geology, environmental studies, ecology, natural resources, or a related field; a minimum of 3-5 years experience in environmental consulting. Depending on the candidate’s background, experience with the following is desired:

Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) ASTM 1527-21
Phase II ESA ASTM 1903-19
Brownfield Redevelopment, Risk Assessments, Engineering and Institutional Controls
Corrective Action Plan and Cessation of Regulated Operations
Petroleum Sites and UST/AST Removal and Installation
NEPA Documentation including Categorical Exclusions; Environmental Assessments; Environmental Impact Statement; and Findings of No Significant Impact
ASTM E2356-18 Standard Practice for Comprehensive Building Asbestos Baseline Surveys, Project Design Surveys, and Pre-Construction Surveys
National Emissions Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) Surveys
EPCRA Documentation and Reporting: Hazardous Chemical Storage Reporting (EPA-Tier 2 Submit); Local Emergency Planning Committee–Emergency Response Plans; Toxic Release Inventory Reporting (TRI)

The individual must meet INDOT pre-qualification requirements in either air compliance or in hazardous materials assessments. The preferred candidate will have some experience with a broad range of field investigations that may include ecological, wetlands, or threatened and endangered species surveys. Excellent written and oral communication skills, familiarity with standard office software packages, and the ability to work independently and as a team member are important.

Other desirable experience includes an Indiana asbestos assessment license or a State of Indiana lead-based paint assessor’s license. Our desired, well-rounded candidate will be able to prepare technical reports and assist with proposals. They will coordinate and communicate with clients, maintain schedules and project budgets, and assist with new staff training and development. Field work may include overnight travel within Indiana and neighboring states.
