🔗Records and Information Management Intern – 1150 hours
National Park Service/NCPE Internship Program
This internship will assist the National Park Service’s American Battlefield Protection Program (NPS ABPP) with records and information management to support the program’s organizational functioning and learn about the workings of federal grants from a funding agency perspective.
ABPP is a national preservation assistance program that provides grants for battlefield land acquisition, planning, documentation, interpretation, and other preservation activities. Duties include: reviewing administrative records of grant recipients for their completeness, requesting archived records from National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), scanning important legal documents for digital management, and tracking records requests, fulfillment and returns to the archive. The intern will participate in the ongoing records management of the organization. The successful candidate will also learn about how federal grants work by following the review process for incoming grant applications, joining meetings with the ABPP staff, other NPS programs, and current or potential partners for broader exposure to the professional practice and networking opportunities.
This position is part of the Internship Program administered by the National Council for Preservation Education (NCPE). The program is a partnership between the National Park Service and NCPE. Successful completion of the internship does not guarantee Federal employment.
