JGWA is a small business architecture firm with approximately 20 employees working across our Albany, NY and NYC offices. Our firm is a leader in Historic Preservation, directing restoration, adaptive use, and new design projects for historic properties across the United States. We work closely with our clients to breathe new life into historic structures for their continued use by future generations. JGWA has been responsible for the restoration of hundreds of nationally significant buildings including the award-winning restoration projects of The Rotunda at the University of Virginia, the Baltimore Cathedral, and the Cincinnati Union Terminal. Our portfolio encompasses several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, over seventy-five National Historic Landmarks, and hundreds of National Register properties.
We are currently seeking a motivated architect to join our award-winning team. What we are looking for in a successful candidate:
· A dedicated and resourceful registered architect (minimum 3-5 years production experience);
· Strong leadership abilities with an interest in mentoring up-and-coming architects;
· Effective collaborator in team environments encompassing fellow architects, consultants, and clients;
· Ability to multitask on various projects with responsibilities including coordination of design and construction drawings (Proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Experience with Revit is preferred.);
· Knowledge of project business scope with ability to adhere to budgets and schedules;
· Passion for historic structures and their preservation (previous experience in preservation preferred, but not required).
