🔗Senior Architectural Historian/Project Delivery Coordinator

Under the general direction of the Chief, Office of Environmental Compliance and Outreach, a Supervising Environmental Planner, the Senior Environmental Planner works in a non-supervisory capacity to help implement Caltrans’ environmental planning policies based on state and federal regulations. The incumbent acts as an in-house environmental planner expert for architectural history issues related to transportation and develops solutions to environmental planning issues as they relate to project delivery activities and stewardship responsibilities. Responsible for taking the lead role in overseeing and coordinating with the Regions/Districts to consistently apply the Department’s Section 106 Programmatic Agreement (PA) as it relates to Local Assistance Project Delivery. Duties include management of contracts and Inter-agency Agreements, development and delivery of training, and outreach to internal and external partners.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Senior Environmental Planner exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
