Essential Functions:
Coordinates ARB meetings and assists applicants throughout process to effectively facilitate zoning ordinance.
Provides assistance to property owners of historic buildings to assist them in the proper care of historic buildings.
Coordinates with non-profits to capitalize on preservation resources.
Coordinates with Facility Management concerning rehab to the historic buildings and ensures the work is completed in accordance to ARB guidelines and standards for rehabilitation.
Writes grants to acquire funding for special projects.
Enforces ARB violations to educate on ARB processes and best practices and ensures compliance with the zoning ordinance.
Reviews plans and provides technical advice, as needed, on City-owned historic properties in regards to their renovation, restoration, or repair.
Prepares and updates historic preservation plans and policies.
Additional Duties:
Consults and serves as a technical advisor on special projects with other departments.
Manages special projects, files applications and advocates for historic sites.
Logs ARB data (approvals, denials, deferrals).
Serves as the Certified Local Government (CLG) contact for the City, as well as the liaison between the City and the Department of Historic Resources (DHR).
Performs related work as assigned.
