  • Job Qualifications:

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    • Two or more years of experience working on an architectural survey, an architectural restoration and preservation project or program, and a bachelor’s degree in architectural history, American history, art history or course work in Pennsylvania history. OR
    • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Additional Requirements:

    • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    Preferred Criteria (not required):

    • Possess a Master’s degree or higher in anthropology, archaeology, American history, or closely related field.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will ensure department projects in Districts 9 and 12 take into consideration the impact on cultural resources in an environmentally sensitive manner, and provide solutions to problems that arise over cultural resource issues associated with the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of highway and other transportation development projects. In your daily duties, you will prepare scopes of work for cultural resource studies, and review environmental documents and related reports to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures as well as completeness and accuracy, and monitor archaeological investigations to review site boundaries, significance, and the degree of impact. Additionally, you will conduct quality control on district projects and assist with implementing the department’s preservation plan.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg.
