Assist with the development of outreach and grant assistance program workshops and curriculum which provide technical assistance and promote awareness and understanding of historic preservation.
Assist in the monitoring of Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) grant projects, including providing assistance in the development of grant proposals, review/scoring of grant applications, development of grant contract and milestones, inspection of all grant-funded activities to ensure conformance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation, final review and approval of grant funded activities.
Administer the Certified Local Government (CLG) Program, which includes conducting annual CLG evaluation visits, providing technical assistance to local governments on establishing historic preservation commissions and ordinances, and organizing regional trainings and planning the annual Certified Local Government Forum. Assist in other CLG program activities as necessary to ensure the program is meeting its mandated requirements.
Assist with monitoring and easement compliance of grant-funded projects, including conducting annual site inspections, providing technical assistance for development of preservation plans, and ensuring federal standards are followed.
Assist in the development of a statewide preservation plan.
Assist in the implementation of a state-funded county courthouse grant program.
Assist as needed with review and consultation on projects undergoing Section 106 review, Historic Tax Credit applications, and National Register eligibility assessments and nominations.
Visit historic properties around the State of Missouri, attend meetings and statewide conferences, and prepare site visit reports.
The position will require some travel with occasional night or weekend hours for site visits, special events or public meetings.
Site visit conditions may involve abandoned buildings, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing flights of stairs, low light situations, and dust.
This position will be performed with significant independence, judgment, and initiative within established guidelines.
