  • Job Summary: Dewberry seeks applicants for a full-time, mid-level, Archaeologist position within our national cultural resource group. Based out of our Parsippany, New Jersey office, we encourage applicants from the surrounding states (CT, NY & PA).
  • Job Qualifications:
    • The qualified candidate will meet Secretary of the Interior’s (SOI) standards for archeology.
    • Candidates must have an MA in anthropology, archaeology, and/or closely related discipline.
    • The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of experience as a principal investigator with similar years of experience conducting in-field archaeology.
    • Qualified candidates should be well rounded within the field and able to perform each stage of investigation from field work to reporting.
    • Candidates must have experience supervising and conducting field surveys in New Jersey and the surrounding metro area.
    • The qualified candidate will possess knowledge and project experience working with applicable federal (most specifically Section 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act), state regulations and New York City Landmarks review.
    • Candidates must have conducted Phase IA, IB and II field investigations and previously authored compliant documentation for state and local level review.
    • Must be knowledgeable of federal, state and local field and reporting standards.
    • Proficiency with GIS software is preferred.
    • Proximity to the metropolitan region preferred.
