  • Job Qualifications:

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum of a BA/BS degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field
    • Completion of an archaeological field school OR demonstrated prior field experience
    • Must be able to stand or kneel for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to work outdoors and in inclement weather
    • Ability to walk/hike in rugged and rough terrain
    • Project Specific Safety Training will be provided
    • Company drug and alcohol policies shall be strictly followed.
    • Returning American Veterans will be given special consideration.

E2PM is a mid-sized well-established environmental consulting company providing strategic environmental services to clients from a broad range of business sectors.

Successful applicants will be responsible for working with the firm’s senior cultural resources staff and field supervisors in the completion of basic archaeological field techniques to test/survey designated project areas for archaeological deposits, the collection of samples, and note taking. This is a temporary assignment of short duration and also potentially non-continuous assignment. Other than statutory requirements the position will have no benefits.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Testing and excavating designated areas and archaeological sites
  • Screening soils for artifacts
  • Collection of soil, carbon, wood, etc. samples as directed
  • Completion of field forms, drawing sketch maps as well as profile and plan view drawings
  • Completion of field inventory forms of recovered artifacts and samples

Other field, lab, or office related duties as assigned

  • Perform work in a variety of environmental settings including fields, woodlots, urban areas, roadway corridors, etc.
  • Receives close supervision on all aspects of assignments
  • Typically reports to a Crew Chief, Field Supervisor, or Archaeologist
