  • Job Qualifications:

    Qualified candidate must have a Masters degree in materials conservation, historic preservation, and/or a related field with some experience in the field of materials conservation.

    Applicants must be fluent with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Treatment of Historic Buildings, have the ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications, understand relevant historic preservation law and building codes; possess excellent research and writing skills; and possess strong organizational skills. Communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.

    Qualified Candidate must be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, GIS. Experience with other architectural programs is welcome.

Position will involve working closely with clients to develop strategies for appropriate preservation solutions leading to the historic rehabilitation of historic buildings and other resources. This position will be the lead involving work related to material analysis, conditions assessments, and conservation recommendations

 

Responsibilities include conducting conditions assessments, preparing historic preservation plans, reviewing drawings and specifications, research as necessary to support recommendations, development of preservation recommendations and strategies, evaluating conservation work done by others, working knowledge of building codes and permit processing, and preparation of documents and reports for submission to clients and for formal agency review.
