  • Job Summary: This job is a hands on, focusing on the restoration of historic windows and other mill work
  • Job Qualifications:

    –        Experience working with historic windows, trim carpentry, painting, or trade school equivalent is a plus
    –        Familiar with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for historic preservation (Primarily #9 & #10)

    We are also happy to train those who are preservation minded but may have minimal experience in trade work

Heritage Window Restoration

Heritage Window Restoration specializes in preserving and repairing historic windows, doors, trim, and mill work around the state of Colorado. We focus on in kind restoration with minimal use of epoxies and other fillers.

Job site and workshop duties may include:

  • Deconstructing/labeling historic system components
  • Removing loose paint
  • Glazing historic windows
  • Minimal epoxy application
  • Hardware restoration
  • In kind component repair, replication, and replacement
  • Re-roping of hung sashes
  • Masking
  • Caulking
  • Painting
  • Sanding
  • Using tools to weatherstrip or modify components in the field
  • Fabricating new components
  • Storm window measuring, fabricating, and installation
