Established in 1965, the Historic Beaufort Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit education and membership organization operating under the laws and guidelines established by the Internal Revenue Service and the South Carolina Secretary of State. The governing body is the Board of Trustees elected at the Annual Meeting of the membership. The mission of Historic Beaufort Foundation is to support the preservation, protection and presentation of sites and artifacts of historic, architectural and cultural interest throughout Beaufort, South Carolina.
Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing and maintaining HBF’s archival documents and files.
- Researching and cataloging critical information on properties in the Beaufort National Historic Landmark District as well as other important Beaufort sites.
- Developing and implementing significant Preservation education programs and exhibits.
- Providing management and program support for HBF’s Flagship property – the John Mark Verdier House & Museum, ca.1804.
- Maintaining and organizing HBF’s easement and Revolving Fund files.
- Monitoring HBF’s easement and covenant properties.
- Supporting HBF committees, staff and volunteers.
- Supporting HBF programs and events.
