KHC is an agency of the Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet, the Kentucky Heritage Council is the State Historic Preservation Office, responsible for the identification, protection and preservation of prehistoric resources and historic buildings, sites and cultural resources throughout the Commonwealth.

The Kentucky Heritage Council-State Historic Preservation Office (KHC) enjoys a great partnership with our friends at Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC). It seeks to fill three positions that liaise between our agencies: an easement coordinator, an archaeologist, and a cultural historian. A Master’s Degree is required, as is the ability to work in the Frankfort office at least three days per week.
