🔗Architectural Designer – Historic Preservation

  • Job Summary: LAS is seeking highly motivated designer with excellent communication skills who is able to work well with people at all levels of the firm. The ideal candidate would have a love for historic buildings and a detail-oriented work approach.
  • Job Qualifications:

    Minimum Requirements:
    Professional (NAAB Accredited) Degree in Architecture.
    2-5 years of experience in an architectural office environment.
    Working knowledge of historic preservation and the US Secretary of the Interior  Standards for Rehabilitation is preferred but not required.
    Strong Revit and production skills are required.
    Graphic communication skills to support a variety of presentation media:  presentation drawings, marketing materials, feasibility studies, etc.  Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign skills.
    Skilled in analytical thinking, modeling and rendering to support the design process.
    Self-motivated individual able to work well in a collaborative office environment.
    Ability to handle job stress, deadlines and interact effectively with others in the workplace is an essential function of the job.
    Good computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel).

     

    Desired Personality Traits
    Interest in the rehabilitation of existing buildings and important historic sites.
    Detail-oriented, methodical, process-oriented, yet open to change and motivated by innovation.
    Great collaborator and communicator – excellent verbal and written skills are important.
    Ambitious self-starter with get-it-done attitude who strives for results and performs well under pressure.

The Architectural Designer responsibilities will include:

Condition Assessments

Graphic Support for presentations and reports

Renderings

Producing Construction Documents.

There will be opportunities to go into the field and attend client facing meetings.
