  • Job Summary: Lord Aeck Sargent (LAS) is seeking a Historic Preservation Project Architect. Responsibilities include condition assessments of historic structures, production of planning documents, production of construction drawing and working with specifications.
  • Job Qualifications:

    Minimum Requirements:
    Professional (NAAB Accredited) Degree in Architecture.
    Interest in historic preservation and building reuse of all kinds.
    At least 5-10 years of experience in an architectural office environment.
    Registration as an Architect or evidence of near completion of the process.
    Working knowledge of historic preservation and the US Secretary of the Interior  Standards for Rehabilitation is preferred but not required.
    Strong Revit and production skills.
    Graphic communication skills to support a variety of presentation media:  presentation drawings, marketing materials, feasibility studies, etc.  Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign skills.
    Skilled in research, analytical thinking, modeling and materials analysis to support the historic preservation design process.
    Self-motivated individual able to work well in a collaborative office environment.
    Good computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel).
    Ability to handle job stress, deadlines and interact effectively with others in the workplace is an essential function of the job.
    Experience with historic preservation projects.  A Historic Preservation degree is not required but would be beneficial.

LAS works on a wide variety of project types and construction eras.  Projects may include house museums, college campus buildings, public buildings, fortifications, and civil rights sites.

Tasks could include:

Condition Assessment Reports

Historic Structure Reports

Preservation and Master Plans

Construction Documents

Construction Administration

On smaller projects, the PA can also act as the PM.
