🔗2023 Internship with the Maryland 250 Commission

The Maryland Historical Trust is seeking candidates for a 2023 Summer Internship with the Maryland 250 Commission; fall and spring internships may also be available. The intern will work under the general supervision of the Director of Maryland 250. Maryland 250 is a statewide yearlong celebration of the United States semiquincentennial, taking place in 2026.
The summer intern will conduct a scan and synthesis of existing research in support of planning for Maryland 250, including, but not limited to celebrations, landmarks, and people in counties, municipalities, businesses, and nonprofit organizations throughout Maryland, and best practices from other states. Results of this scan will be documented and cataloged by the intern. Opportunities may also be available related to other aspects of Maryland 250, including outreach.
The summer intern will serve a maximum of 400 hours over a period of up to 10 consecutive weeks to begin on or about May 31, 2023. Most work will be conducted during normal business hours, however this position may require occasional work outside of these hours (early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays), or extended days.
The summer intern will receive a total amount not to exceed $6,000.00 paid in bi-weekly increments based on the number of hours worked at a rate of $15.00 per hour. Students currently enrolled in or who have graduated from an accredited graduate or undergraduate program in history, political science, sociology, English, journalism, communications, or business, or a related field are encouraged to apply.
