The South Florida Collections Management Center (SFCMC) is a multi-park museum program for Big Cypress National Preserve, De Soto National Memorial, and Biscayne, Dry Tortugas, and Everglades National Parks. The center coordinates the acquisition and preservation of museum and archive collections, which support research and park interpretive needs. Although located inside Everglades National Park, the SFCMC provides long-term museum planning for all five National Park Service units in south Florida. The Archives Intern will conduct archival survey of resource management records; implement archival housing and preservation for permanent records; describe and catalog records into a collections database; and engage with other members of the SFCMC’s archival team. Training may include preventive conservation and housekeeping methodologies, integrated pest management techniques, collections inventory, and training for park hurricane preparedness. This position requires the intern to report on site to conduct work with archival collections; the intern will be supervised by the SFCMC archivist. A housing stipend is included for this position.
