🔗Southeast Archeological Center Museum Intern – 1200 hours

The intern will work primarily in the museum curation lab at the Southeast Archeological Center in Tallahassee, FL, and will be supervised by the Museum Registrar/Collections Manager. Duties may include data clean-up in the collections database, processing and cataloging archeological field collections, artifact labeling, and organizing and rehousing collections.
The Southeast Archeological Center is the regional repository for National Park Service units in Interior Region 2, with archeological collections from over 65 park units in storage. The collections amount to approximately 10 million artifacts and archives. Interns have the opportunity to learn National Park Service cataloging standards and procedures, as well as collections management practices and principles of museum preservation.
This position is part of the Internship Program administered by the National Council for Preservation Education (NCPE). The program is a partnership between the National Park Service and NCPE. The successful applicants must be 30 years of age or younger (or 35 years or younger if a Veteran) when they begin the internship. Qualified NCPE interns who complete their internships may count their position towards earning a Public Land Corps (PLC) Non-Competitive Hiring Authority certificate.
