National Park Service/ NCPE Internship Program

This internship will be focused on supporting the Section 106 and Cultural Resource Stewardship Assessment Program in the National Capital Region (NCR) of the National Park Service (NPS). The selected individual will gain experience with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act by assisting in the coordination of project tracking and reviews for park projects. They may also support Section 106 training efforts in the region. The selected individual will also assist in developing Cultural Resource Stewardship Assessments (CRSA) in the NCR. CRSAs are a tool that helps parks assess the overall health of their cultural resource management programs and identify areas for improvement. The CRSA process involves collaboration between park and regional office staff. This internship is an excellent opportunity to be exposed to the broader principles of cultural resource management and compliance at the regional level in the NPS.
