Museum Collections Intern – 380 hours

The Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, located in northern California, is seeking a candidate to assist its Cultural Resources Program with Museum Collections. Duties include a variety of responsibilities including processing and cataloging collections as reported on the fiscal year (FY) 2020 Collections Management Report (CMR) using the Dept. of the Interior’s official software ICMS/MCMS. Other duties include document/photo scanning; photo cataloging; regular housekeeping and environmental monitoring tasks; handling archival materials and cultural resource objects and artifacts; conducting the annual inventory and museum checklist. Travel to park unit sites with curatorial staff to provide onsite assistance may be required. This experience will provide both hands-on museum experience and enhance data-management skills. The entire internship will be spent in the park; park housing is provided and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
