  • Job Qualifications:

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    Two or more years of experience working on an architectural survey, an architectural restoration and preservation project or program, and a bachelor’s degree in architectural history, American history, art history or course work in Pennsylvania history;     or
    Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Additional Requirements:

    *You must meet or exceed the minimum education and experience required to meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications Standards.
    *You must possess experience working with a team of individuals and independently.
    *You must be able to perform essential job functions.

As a Historic Preservation Specialist – Above Ground Environmental Reviewer, your responsibilities relate to advising and assisting state and/or federal agencies in the consideration of above ground cultural resources and historic properties in their project planning and programs. You will also conduct or assist with proactive research, documentation, and survey efforts. Effective communication is essential as is the knowledge of state and federal historic preservation programs and experience in above ground cultural resource survey. Work includes reviewing state and federally sponsored projects, evaluating their effects on above ground cultural resources, participating in the management and collection of above ground survey and compliance review, as well as working with state and federal agencies regarding the management of above ground resources.
