Picardie is New Orleans' premier architectural woodwork company and a licensed, commercial general contractor. We are experts in historic renovation, custom millwork, and timber frame design for commercial and high-end residential projects.

We are looking for a Millwork Production Manager to join our team in New Orleans! In this role, you will oversee the manufacture and repair of millwork for large commercial and residential projects. You will ensure that all projects are on schedule, meet quality standards, and are prepared for successful installation.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Hands-on Leadership: Hands-on role in the manufacturing and repairs of architectural millwork while providing guidance and training to the team on proper techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Oversee the production process, ensuring accuracy in shop drawings and specifications, while maintaining quality control to minimize mistakes.
  • Set daily and long-term goals for the millwork shop team, prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely completion of projects ahead of installation deadlines.
  • Manage inventory of materials and tools, ensuring equipment is in working order and the shop is organized and clean.
  • Ensure carpentry work meets company and industry standards, and supervise the team to maintain high-quality production.
  • Cross-Communication: Facilitate effective communication between the shop and job site teams to ensure timely coordination of materials and deliveries.
  • Assist with other duties as required to support project completion and team goals.

Required Skills: 

  • Expertise in custom carpentry and millwork.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Knowledge of the proper maintenance and operation of woodworking tools and equipment.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
  • Ability to problem solve to resolve issues promptly to minimize delays and maintain quality standards.

Required Experience: 

  • Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs, using hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment
  • 5+ years in Management
  • 5+ years of Carpentry Experience
  • OSHA 10 certification

Job Details: 

  • Job Type: Full-time, permanent position.
  • Supervise a team of 2-6 people
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 AM – 4 PM. Some overtime and Saturday work may be required.
  • Location: New Orleans, LA 70117 (Must have reliable transportation).

Requirements:  

  • Must pass a background check and drug test.
  • Must have own hand and cordless tools.
