A Cultural Resources Senior Research Associate position is being advertised with Texas A&M Natural Resources Institute (TAMU-NRI) to provide technical expertise, program management support, surveillance, and oversight of Cultural Resources installation support services for Fort Irwin, California. The duty station for this position is Fort Irwin.
The Cultural Resource Senior Research Associate shall provide technical expertise, guidance, management support, and oversight for Fort Irwin regarding National Historic Preservation Act Section 106/110 consultation and documentation; review project documents (work plans, schedules, and technical reports); assist with project execution; develop Archaeological Resource Protection Act (ARPA) and/or Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) plans of action that address inadvertent discoveries; respond to periodic data calls; assist with annual reviews of Integrated Cultural Resource Management Plans (ICRMPs); support tribal consultations and meetings; track permit and project milestone dates and deadlines; assist with the identification and evaluation of built features and structures, archaeological sites, and Traditional Cultural Properties; technical report reviews and revisions. Technical experience in geospatial mapping related to the management of cultural resources and historic/prehistoric properties is required.
This position will routinely interface with Cultural Resources Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Fort Irwin Program Managers, and the Fort Irwin Cultural Resources Manager and Environmental Chief to forecast and prioritize program requirements. Occasional travel is expected for this position.
Salary: $80,000/-Negotiable
