  • Job Summary: We’re looking for an Architectural Historian to join our cultural resources team in Jacksonville, Florida to assist us with conducting building surveys and HABS/HAER documentation efforts for federal and private clients.
  • Job Qualifications:

    What You Bring

    • A Master’s degree in Historic Preservation OR Architectural History, OR related field with Architectural History / Historic Preservation Certificate
    • SOI-qualified in Architectural History (per Secretary of the Interior’s Standards)
    • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience within cultural resource management or related industry
    • Strong technical writing, communication, and research skills
    • Demonstrated commitment to ethical, inclusive, and community-engaged historic preservation practices
    • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for fieldwork

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct historical research, field surveys, and architectural surveys and assessments
  • Prepare high-quality reports, including National Register Nominations and Section 106 documentation
  • Write historic context statements, preservation plans, and technical reports
  • Collaborate with archaeologists, planners, and other team members
  • Interface with clients, agencies, and communities on preservation-related projects
  • Support compliance with local, state, and federal preservation laws
