🔗Restoration Architect / Architectural Preservation Project Manager

  • $44 to $55 per hour (about $86K to $114K a year) commensurate with experience and efficacy; and 1-1/2 time for overtime. USD / Hour

  • Job Qualifications:
    • Minimum five (5) years of relevant work experience in architectural restoration required.
    • Undergraduate or graduate degree, or equivalent experience in architecture or historic preservation.
    • Knowledge of and interest in historic and contemporary building envelope materials and their mechanisms of deterioration.
    • Interest in expanding knowledge base.
    • Adept at writing historic building condition assessment.
    • Ability to develop, detail and specify a building envelope repair and maintenance scope of work.
    • Prior management experience delegating, supervising, and training a small team.
    • Proficient in AutoCAD and hand drawing / sketching.
    • Strong English verbal, written, and organizational skills.
    • Experience performing building restoration and/or construction administration related field work.
    • Reasonable proximity to Manhattan required to facilitate regular visits to NYC construction sites.
    • Scaffolding certifications, and familiarity with NYC Façade Inspection Safety Program (FISP) a plus but not required.

  • Develop and manage exterior building envelope restoration and repair projects from inception through to completion of construction.
  • Draft proposals and interact with clients.
  • Lead assessment and diagnosis of existing conditions and causes of deterioration.
  • Develop and budget appropriate project-specific repair approaches and associated construction documents.
  • Management of the bidding and construction process, running of meetings, and client expectations.
  • Delegate work to and help train junior staff in all phases of the project process.
