GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The National Register Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the National Register of Historic Places and Historic Preservation Tax Credit programs.  This position will also be responsible for performing Section 106 reviews related to buildings and structures as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.

Write and review national register nominations.
Plan review board meetings.
Submit nominations to the National Park Service.
Review tax credit applications.
Advise project proponents on the standards of rehabilitation.
Ensure timely submission of application materials to the National Park Service.

 

Qualifications
PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:

Preference may be given to individuals with a Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Anthropology (with an emphasis in Archaeology), History, Architecture, or Historic Preservation.

**Must meet the Secretary of the Interiors Professional Qualifications in Architectural History
KNOWLEDGE:

 

Knowledge of the National Register of Historic Places.
Knowledge of Historic Preservation tax credit.
Knowledge of 106 reviews.
Knowledge of the Secretary of Interiors Standards for Rehabilitation.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (typically in Cultural Resources)
Experience:
1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Cultural Resources) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior Cultural Resources Specialist
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Cultural Resources) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior Cultural Resources Specialist
